Uninyvin cable
Uninyvin (also known as Nyvin) cables are lightweight, heat‑resistant cables originally developed for aircraft wiring. They use a combination of tinned copper, heat‑resistant insulation and protective braids to achieve high performance.
Construction
Annealed tinned copper conductor; heat‑resistant PVC insulation; glass fiber braid saturated with protective varnish; nylon or neoprene outer covering.
Cable standards
Manufactured according to BS G 177 and KSD 07‑73 for aircraft wiring; rated for frequencies up to 1600 Hz.
Technical specification
Rated voltage up to 600 V; continuous operating temperature up to +105 °C; serviceable down to –75 °C; small diameter and low weight; available conductor sizes from ~0.35 mm² to >100 mm².
Characteristics
Very light weight; superior heat and abrasion resistance; high mechanical strength; better current‑carrying capacity than equivalent PVC cables; good for high frequency applications.
Applications
Fixed wiring in aircraft and aerospace equipment; wiring in military vehicles and transport systems where weight reduction and heat resistance are critical; also used in high‑frequency or vibration‑prone installations.
